Hi there,

My name’s Joel and welcome to ultrafang.

The inspiration for this site arrived during a three-month motorbike trip around Europe back in 2012-ish.

After messing around on Google trying to find good bike roads during the last leg of the tour in Southern Spain, the thought occurred that there must be some local bikers who’d be willing to show us around for the day…

Maybe a guided ride, a spot of lunch or perhaps even a camping spot for the night…

During the trip, we’d already couchsurfed for free with some fellow bikers, but in Spain, we’d have been more than happy to pay for a local tour.

The problem was, we couldn’t find any way to do it. There are some great bike forums around, but we there were no websites offering specific, location-based help or services.

That’s when I decided to set up the first iteration of this site.

Unfortunately, a few years back, my tech skills weren’t up to scratch, and after hiring a company to build the vision, I was left with a buggy, unreliable website.

So, with some improved technology, here’s my second attempt!

The biking community’s a powerful force, always willing to help fellow petrolheads. So here are the things I think ultrafang could be used for…

• Are you looking to buy or sell a bike? See the classifieds section 🙂
• Are you a local biker that can offer free or paid guided tours?
• Do you have a spare room or camping spot for touring bikers?
• Do you organise any ride outs that other bikers could join?
• Do you know of any local motorbike events or venues?
  

If you can say yes to any of the above, you can create a listing on the site,  so other bikers can find it on the map.

Also, I’ve tried to include business listings, events and motorcycle shows etc, to make the site a more comprehensive, one-stop shop for bikers.

I’m working on this project in my spare time, to create a resource that helps bikers connect in the real world.
